Kay Flynn Ballet and Dancing Academy was established over twenty-five years ago in North Queensland.
For the past twenty years, the Academy has enjoyed success on the Gold Coast under the guidance of Principal, Ms Kay Flynn.

The hallmark of the academy has always been well-disciplined classes in Ballet, Jazz, Tap and Contemporary with an emphasis on imparting the love of dance to each individual student.

Ms Flynn’s dedication to excellence has been demonstrated with consistently high examination results and the inclusion of students to the Australian Ballet School (Melbourne), the Australian and Queensland Ballet’s Junior Extensions Programmes in addition to a raft of eisteddfod awards.

As a nationally respected adjudicator, Ms Flynn’s philosophy of dance is embodied in three vital principles:

The Arena of Enjoyment
Learning to dance is both exciting and rewarding. Children love to be creative. Classes are designed to maximise enjoyable learning.

The Arena of Correct Training
While dancing is fun, the safe and proficient training of young bodies is vital. Our teachers are trained, registered professionals who hold Child Suitability (Blue) Cards.

The Arena of Personal development
Students are encouraged to excel by caring, supportive teachers who provide opportunities to develop confidence and a positive self-image on all levels.

To support children through their dance experience, the academy offers annual examinations with the Royal Academy of Dance and FATD syllabus, in addition to the much anticipated performance at the Gold Coast Arts Centre each December. These experiences represent unique opportunities for parents, friends, and the wider community to share in the wonderful display of dancing in professional venues.
